Our Story

Not all those who wander are lost. In the case of the Keenes, it is a way of life. Their journey from the US to Europe to Asia and back sparked a dream to impact the lives of kids and a vision to do so in a sustainable manner. Kyle and Sarah loved being outside of their comfort zone, both personally and professionally, but were surprised by how inaccessible pediatric therapy was in most communities they lived in. Utilizing Kyle’s passion for entrepreneurship and Sarah’s expertise in pediatric occupational therapy, they launched Project Play Therapy in 2016, in their hometown of Nashville, Tennessee determined to fill that gap. The husband and wife team plugged away learning, advocating, and building their village. In 2017, the Keenes facilitated the acquisition of another pediatric practice owned by a local speech and language therapy legend, Helen Duhon.

The timing was right and this acquisition allowed Project Play to spread its wings from serving primarily clinic based kids to local school districts as well. Project Play grew rapidly over the course of the next few years and established itself in Middle Tennessee as a leader in pediatric therapy.

Kyle & Sarah are so proud of the resilience and adaptability Project Play has demonstrated over the years, much like the kids and families they serve. They have a big vision; believing that all children can reach their fullest potential….until they meet that, they will keep trying.
