Project Play Therapy Re-Opening Plan

Project Play Therapy Re-Opening Plan

As Tennessee begins slowly and cautiously opening back up, Project Play Therapy is committed to putting the health and safety of our patients and employees first, above all else. I am sure you have started to think about what this time looks like for PPT, when we get back to business as usual (or at least the “new” normal), and how we do so safely. We wanted to provide some clarification, and also pass on to you our new COVID-19 Policies.

We plan to follow along with Davidson County guidelines, regardless of the clinic, at this point. We will ease into in person services in Phase 2 of Davidson County’s plan (see HERE for information on those phases). But that is also contingent upon us getting the supplies we need to keep everyone safe (ie. hand sanitizer, disinfectant, and PPE for our staff). We are excitedly working on acquiring those supplies now, and cannot wait to open back up our doors!

When we resume in-person services, we will taking the following precautions to ensure the safety of everyone in our building:

  • All of our amazing staff will be securing a negative COVID-19 test result and providing it to PPT management no more than 1 week before a return to in-person services.

  • All employees will receive training on CDC Guidance to slow the spread of COVID-19, and reminders will be posted throughout our buildings.

  • We will be asking all our employees to wear cloth masks (or approved face shield/ table shields) at all times when on PPT premises. We would like to encourage our patients to have masks, as well. If your child cannot / will not wear a mask, please check in with your office manager / therapist to let us know.

  • We will be practicing social distancing as much as possible, and also will be trying to limit the number of people in our building and common areas. For this reason, we will closing our lobby / waiting room in each clinic. While this is certainly different, we hope this measure helps to keep everyone safe and healthy. If you need an exception – please reach out to your office manager to discuss alternate options.

  • Our staff will be participating in increased cleaning and sanitization measures, including: increased hand-washing, increased cleaning of equipment and therapy spaces, and disinfecting of all areas such as offices, bathrooms, common areas, shared electronic equipment routinely (at least 3 times daily).

  • We will be asking all employees and patients will answer a quick symptom questionnaire (you can view HERE) and we will perform temperature checks before entering the building.

  • Should a staff member or patient present with a temperature of over 100.4 or symptoms, they will be sent home until they are symptom free.

Please also download HERE a letter from our Director of Operations, Erin Perry, about Project Play’s response to COVID-19. We believe that by working together we can ensure that everyone in the PPT family is happy, and healthy, during this time. If you have any questions about our re-opening plans / preparation, we would love to connect with you.
