Project Play Therapy is now offering Music Therapy services at our clinic locations!
PPT is so excited to have our Board-Certified Music Therapist, Lydia in our clinics! This service was formerly only available in our schools and now your child can get clinic services as well.
Is your child motivated to complete tasks with the use of music? Are they calmed by music when upset? Does their eye contact or attention increase during music based activities? If so, they may benefit from music therapy services!
What is music therapy?
Board-Certified Music Therapists (MT-BC) use music interventions to support children’s growth and independence in non-musical goal areas, such as:
- Cognitive skills
- Academic skills
- Emotion regulation
- Social skills
- Fine and gross motor skills
What do music therapy sessions look like?
Music therapy sessions are engaging and individualized according to each child’s unique strengths, needs, and preferences. Clients do not need to have prior musical training or abilities/talents to benefit from music therapy. During music therapy sessions, your child may participate in interventions such as:
- Instrument play
- Music and movement
- Music listening
- Lyric discussion
- Relaxation to music
- And more!
